Using Study Standard

How do I search for a document?

Study Standard gives you access to highly advanced search capabilities. Whether you want to browse by subject, school, AP course, law school course or simple keyword – you can do it all by using the search tool at the top of each page.

How can I view the documents that I purchase?

Once you purchase a document, it will show up in your library under “Purchased”.

How can I contribute my own documents to the site?

It’s simple! You can contribute documents once you create a FREE user account. After you’ve signed up, you can upload your documents with our Contribute Documents Form. Remember: For every 10 documents that you submit and we approve, you will receive 4 download credits.

What types of documents can I upload?

The single most important document requirement is that the document MUST belong to you. This means that you – and only you – must hold the copyright to this document. When you upload any document, you are agreeing that it belongs to you. When uploading a document, the requirements are as follows:

  • You must list the correct school and course.
  • You must list a subject that the document belongs to as well as a document type.
  • The document must have a relevant title so that users can understand what it’s about.
  • For privacy reasons, it is highly recommended that you remove your name from the document.
  • You cannot upload image files.

What is a collection?

We make it easy for you to stay organized! You can create collections of documents you purchase or just want to save for possible future purchase. Create and label as many collections as you would like in your library.

Where are my account settings located?

Once you have created a free account, your account settings will be located under the circle avatar in the upper right hand corner of the site. Mouse over it to see the available options.

Does every paper on Study Standard have a bibliography?

Because our content is user generated, it’s the decision of the document contributor to submit a bibliography. Therefore, some documents will have bibliographies while others will not.

Can these documents be downloaded if I live in a country outside of the U.S.?

They sure can. There’s no limit to your location!

I’m having an issue logging into my account. Can I reset my password?

Yes, you can reset your password on our Forgot Password page.

I would like to remove my paper from the site. How can I do this?

Get in touch with us by using our Contact Form. Don’t forget to include the link to your paper.

What is the best browser to use with Study Standard?

Study Standard works best with Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Safari, or Internet Explorer 9 or later. For optimum performance, please ensure that the browser you choose is updated to the latest version.

Academic Integrity & Copyright Information

Is it considered plagiarism to use the Study Standard site?

No, it is not. All of the material on our site is user generated. This means that users are contributing their work for you to use to improve your grades. Plagiarism, on the other hand, means submitting someone else’s work as your own. When you submit your documents to our site or review/cite another user’s documents, you are not plagiarizing. Any documents that you download from Study Standard are intended for the sole purpose of helping you study. Our documents should be used as research tools only. When referencing any part of our materials, you should always cite them accordingly. We at Study Standard are fully committed to academic integrity. Please be aware that the consequences of being caught for plagiarizing can seriously hurt your academic career. We don’t want that, and neither should you.

How do I properly cite the materials on Study Standard?

Citing materials on Study Standard is no different than citing other website sources.

I found my copyrighted material on this site, and I did not give my permission to use it. How can I get it removed?

At Study Standard, we take copyright violations very serious. If you believe your copyrighted work exists on our site in such a way that violates copyright infringement, you may simply follow the instructions on our Copyright page to have your materials removed from the site by our copyright agent.

I don’t see an official copyright notice on material that I want to upload. How do I know if it has been copyrighted?

If you aren’t the author of the document that you want to upload, you MUST get permission from its author before doing so. Please be aware that even if a document is not labeled with an official copyright notice, it may still be protected. Copyright holders are not required to label their work. Copyrights on documents created after 1923 last for 95 years after the date they were created.

What does a free account include?

Your free account includes full access to the website, as well as 2 free downloads.

How much does it cost to subscribe to Study Standard?

We offer monthly, quarterly and annual subscriptions in addition to download packages for those who don’t want a subscription. Once you sign up for a free account, you can take a look at our plan options in more detail.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept all major credit cards including Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express. We also accept PayPal. The charge will show up on your statement as Study Standard. Our transactions are automatic and secure.

What is my billing cycle?

All subscriptions are recurring. All subscriptions are also valid for the term regardless if you cancel before the term ends. You will not lose your credits until the end of your term. Canceling before the term ends only means your recurring payment will not take place. If you do not cancel your subscription, you will automatically be recharged again for the same subscription. All subscriptions are based on your start date. A monthly subscription is billed every 30 days, while a quarterly subscription is billed every 3 months, and an annual subscription is billed once per year.

Do you offer refunds?

Generally, we do not offer refunds. However, if you have a particular reason you want a refund, please contact us.

How can I upgrade or downgrade my plan?

To upgrade or downgrade your plan immediately, cancel your current plan and select a new one. Or you can select a new one without cancelling. This new plan will go into effect once the original subscription is over.

How can I cancel my subscription?

If you wish to cancel your subscription, simply access the “My Account” section. You’ll be able to cancel under “Edit Profile and Subscriptions”.

How can I cancel my free account?

To cancel your free account, please contact Customer Service.

How long will my account remain active after I cancel it?

Once you cancel your account, we will close it within 48 hours.

I am trying to sign up, and my payment won’t process. What should I do?

First, make sure that you are using a credit or debit card with a Visa, Discover, American Express, or Master Card logo. Prepaid gift cards may not be accepted. Ensure that pop-up or ad blockers in your browser are not preventing your payment from processing. Using a different browser is always another option. If you are still having issues after attempting these steps, please contact your Credit Card Company (or PayPal) to determine the cause of the problem. You can always contact us as well.

Can I earn cash when I refer friends to Study Standard?

You can use PayPal to withdraw any cash that you earn.

Privacy & Security

I’m worried about my privacy online. Do you have a privacy policy?

No worries! Rest assured that Study Standard will not disclose any personal information to a third party without your consent. Please read through our Privacy Policy every so often, as changes may occur from time to time.

How do I know that my payment transaction is secure on your site?

You’re in good hands with us. We use the Braintree payment gateway to process all of our transactions. Your credit card information is never stored on our systems. We also use the most recent SSL technology to keep all of our transactions completely safe.
